2. GENERAL RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT
-
Drivers must use their real first and last names in the game to participate in the competition.
-
To participate in the competition, drivers must have a ping from the game server equal to or less than 150 ms.
-
If a driver's internet connection is poor or unstable for any reason, the Organisers - the Race Commissioners - and the Race Director have the right to communicate "Black Flag" and ask the Driver to immediately return to the pits to withdraw or exclude him from the game session.
-
All Drivers must be on time to attend appointments and sessions designated in official documents.
-
Drivers are expected to be familiar with the league regulations, as well as the specific features and rules of the gaming platform used.
-
Only Organizers can decide whether a session should be delayed or restarted.
-
It is not permitted to push another driver’s vehicle to assist them - if they have run out of fuel or have suffered mechanical failure, etc.
-
Drivers must always leave a reasonable space if they are side by side (see Rule 7).
-
Unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to penalties. Any Driver who willfully causes an accident with one or more drivers may be excluded from the competition or the entire championship.
-
The Organizers, the Race Commissioners, and the Race Director will supervise the playing sessions. The Organizers, the Race Commissioners, and the Race Director may report any incorrect behavior and, based on an evaluation by the Organizers themselves, various sanctions may be applied based on the severity of the violations committed by the Driver. This also includes removal of the Driver from the session, formal reprimands, and/or removal from future USEF.GG/Init Esports events.
-
Ultimately is going to be the USEF.GG Players commission to accept the results and send the official invitation to the winners.
3. QUALIFYING/HOTLAP SESSIONS
-
Drivers must achieve their fastest lap without exploiting external factors. It is forbidden to gain an advantage by exploiting other drivers on the track, such as bump drafting, or by driving too close to opponents in front by exploiting the slipstream. If a driver performs one or more of the above actions, the driver may receive a warning or even a penalty for the race session, which may include the removal of the best-set lap time or the obligation to start from the back of the grid. The exploitation of the wake produced by the car in front is permitted only if the aforementioned rules are not violated.
-
Lap invalidation, resulting from off-track is handled by the game. Race Direction can also view the replay to check if a violation of the track limits has been committed.
-
It is strictly forbidden to stop on the track to return to the pits using the escape key. Teleportation to the pits is permitted only and exclusively if the driver stops outside the track and in a safe escape route. Any transgression will be severely penalized by the Stewards or Race Direction. Repeated violations by a driver will result in a formal warning (Warning) or disqualification from the competition.
-
The drivers who are on their out lap must let the other Drivers who are on their Hot lap pass by slowing down and leaving the way clear. The blue flag system in the game helps, Drivers to be aware that the following car is on a Hot lap. Ignoring the blue flag and holding back another Driver who is on their Hot lap is behavior that can be penalized by the Organizers, the Race Commissioners, or the Race Director.
-
Exiting the pit lane must be done with caution so as not to interrupt the timed lap of the other Drivers. It is strictly forbidden to cross the solid white line; any violation may result in a serious penalty by the Organizers, the Race Commissioners, or the Race Director.
-
It is forbidden to approach a Driver during their fast lap and attempt to overtake them The Driver behind must ensure there is ample space ahead before starting the timed lap, anticipating potential differences in pace, so as not to interrupt the qualifying lap of the car in front. Drivers who disturb another driver on a fast lap may be penalized, repeated violations of this rule by the same Driver will result in them being disqualified from the race or the entire competition.
4. RACE START PROCEDURE
-
The race-starting procedure is managed entirely by the game.
5. TRACK LIMITS
-
Track limits are determined by the game itself, using the in-game warning and penalty system for infringements.
-
The entry/exit lanes from the pits are considered part of the track. Drivers entering/exiting the pits must remain within the pit entry/exit lanes with all four wheels and are not permitted to cross them. The encroachment of the white line will be considered acceptable depending on the situation and the use of the aforementioned section of the track irregularly or to obtain an advantage will be subject to penalties at the discretion of the Race Commissioners and/or the Race Director.
-
Going off the track with all four wheels due to an error is considered part of racing. Repeatedly leaving the track in the same corner may be considered an advantage and a penalty may be assigned by the in-game penalty system or by the Race Stewards and/or the Race Director.
-
Gaining a position, gaining an advantage over another driver, or gaining a position on the track (gaining time) by leaving the track in any way is against the rules. The Driver who gained an advantage must, in the case of gaining position, restore the position to the Driver who was illegally overtaken. If the Driver who has obtained an advantage does not comply with the above-mentioned rule, they will receive a post-race penalty from the Race Director.
6. FLAGS
-
Yellow flags are enforced in play and drivers must be careful/slow down to avoid dangerous situations.
-
If the driver is seen to ignore the yellow flags, it is at the discretion of the Race Director to apply a penalty or not.
-
Blue flags are applied in race and slow/lapped drivers must slow down to make room for the players behind them.
-
A driver who has been shown the blue flag is not allowed to defend their position on the track against the fastest car (at full revs) following them. Detaining, intentionally blocking, or defending against the car following (at full speed) leads to the application of a penalty or even the disqualification of the lapped driver. Drivers about to be lapped must behave predictably without sudden changes in direction on the track.
-
Lapped drivers can only un-lap themselves if they can create a gap after overtaking the driver who was a lap ahead.
7. BEHAVIOR ON THE TRACK
-
The driver in front has the right to choose any line in any section of the track. The driver in front loses this right when another driver while attempting to overtake, brings the front axle in line with the rear axle of the car in front. At this point the two drivers are in a position defined as "side by side", and both must give each other space within the demarcation lines of the track.
-
Defense is allowed and accepted as a reaction from the driver in front. Note that following the apex in a bend is not considered defense unless the cars are considered “side by side”.
-
Both the driver who attempts to overtake and the driver who defends are responsible for the correctness of the overtake and defense maneuver. It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to choose the least risky moment to make the overtake attempt.
-
Attempts to overtake on bends are the maneuvers that cause the majority of accidents. For each corner, the right to the ideal trajectory is decided at the turning point. A driver attempting to pass on corner entry must be in a “side by side” position at the turning point to be entitled to attempt to overtake. Otherwise, the driver must abort the overtaking attempt and leave room for the driver in front.
-
“Dive-bombing” should be avoided and is subject to penalties. If the driver attempting to overtake loses control of the car and causes contact or loss of time to another driver, the penalties applied may be more severe than normal.
-
Brake-checking, unnecessary slowing down when cornering, punting, and cutting off, regardless of whether there is contact or not, are not permitted and will be subject to penalties.
-
Blocking or pushing (without contact) another driver off the track is not permitted and will be subject to penalties.
-
Zigzagging on the track is not permitted and will be subject to penalties.
-
Drivers who have lost control of the car must apply the brakes to make it easier for other drivers to predict their movements. After a spin, the driver must hold the brakes to ensure the car stops before resuming the track.
-
Drivers who leave the limits of the track, if they manage to keep their car under control, must slow down and re-enter the track with maximum safety without hindering the other drivers. The driver who returns to the track and causes one or more accidents will receive a severe penalty from the Race Director.
8. ACCIDENTS AND PENALTIES
-
The official sessions will be supervised by the Race Commissioners and the Race Director.
-
Reviews of incidents that occurred during the race will be conducted by a minimum of two Stewards and the Race Director. Warning/penalty decisions will be issued by the Clerk of the Course.
-
Penalty judgment criteria:
-
Unavoidable contact/action: racing contact, no penalty
-
Avoidable contact or action
-
Penalty warning (Aggressive overtaking/Divebomb with contact but concedes position/avoidable contact)
-
5-second penalty (Aggressive overtaking/Divebomb with contact and position gained/serious and avoidable contact)
-
15-second penalty (Pushing off or spinning an opponent and regaining the position)
-
Drive through (Pushing off or spinning an opponent without giving up the position)
-
Stop and Go 10 (Cause an accident involving 2 to 4 cars)
-
Stop and Go 30 (Causing an accident involving more than 4 cars)
-
DQ (Disqualification from results).
-
-
Unsportsmanlike conduct or any other violation of the Sporting Code:
-
warning, disqualification, or exclusion from the championship as established by the Organizers and Race Direction.
-
-
If a Driver causes an avoidable accident and the Contacted driver loses position or suffers serious injury, the offending driver can expect a penalty of a minimum of 5 seconds up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
-
Repeat offenders will receive a 30-second penalty with graduated severity.
-
The Stewards will exercise reasonable judgment at all times in particular when reviewing light contacts, touches, and impacts.
-
The Stewards will note and examine all incidents which occur during each session. During the race, priority will be given to incidents involving cars in the top 10 positions, however, all noted incidents will be reviewed during or after each race. Any incidents brought to the attention of the Stewards and the Race Director using the post-race protest system will be investigated as soon as possible, but only after the Stewards have completed their review of incidents noted during a race. Incidents not submitted via the protest system may not be examined by the Stewards and Race Director.
-
Final results can only be issued after the Stewards and the Race Director have examined all incidents and applied the relevant penalties. The final results will include any post-race penalties applied by the DG.
9. INCIDENTS AND APPEALS
-
Players are authorized to lodge incidents up to 6 hours after the conclusion of the match session. The channel on the official Discord server called "Incident Forms" is used for this function.
-
Every driver has the right to appeal a decision that involves them. To appeal, a driver can post a message in the ‘appeal channel’ with their reasoning and any evidence that backs up their appeal. Appeals will only be accepted if the stewards agree that new information or evidence has been provided which has not already been considered by the stewards and is within the appeal window.
-
A message will be posted to the Discord channel by an administrator confirming the start time of the Protest section. A further message will subsequently be published to confirm the closure of the protest section. Complaints not sent within this time period will not be accepted and examined.
-
Protests sent with the wrong format or incomplete will not be taken into consideration by the Stewards.
-
Drivers who improperly use the protest channel will be penalized or disqualified from the championship.
10. ADDITIONAL RULES ON THE GAME SERVER
-
The game's CHAT window must be enabled for all official sessions in the game's UI settings. The organizers will not accept complaints for lost messages if sent via in-game chat.
-
Text chat is not permitted during qualifying and the race. Players who do not comply with this rule may be warned or penalized during or after the session. Repeat offenders may receive a penalty that will affect the outcome of the race, and championship standings or even be excluded from the Championship.
