Bristol Motor Speedway under the lights delivered everything we could have asked for and more in Event 5 of the Team USA Talent Scout powered by MOZA Racing. With the NASCAR Next Gen Cup cars roaring around the half-mile bullring, fans were treated to a true Saturday night short-track classic.
Race Recap – A War of Attrition
Qualifying was already electric as Arron Smith edged out Edward Sanchez by less than a tenth, with the entire grid separated by under a second. But Bristol wasted no time—Lap 2 brought the first yellow as cold tires caught a driver out.
On the restart, Sanchez was shuffled back while Jordan Johnson and Ricky Paz powered through, igniting what became a 200-lap battle of nerves. Johnson and Smith pulled away, but as Smith’s tires faded, Johnson seized the lead and settled into a relentless rhythm. Showing nerves of steel, Johnson stretched his tires to the 100-lap halfway mark, a daring gamble that had the crowd buzzing.
But Bristol has a way of flipping strategies. A mid-race caution threw the order into chaos, trapping Johnson and Paz a lap down. From there, the focus shifted to Sanchez, Arron Brown, and Sean Roberts, who capitalized on track position and tire management. With MOZA Racing hardware powering every lap of iRacing, the intensity felt just like the real colosseum under the lights.
As the laps wound down, Sanchez and Brown fought tooth and nail for control, with Roberts close behind. Johnson and Paz could not recover in time, and when the checkered flag flew, it was Sanchez who stood tall in one of the most grueling events of the season.
