🏎️ Team USA Talent Scout Event 4 Recap | Powered by MOZA Racing Portland International Raceway - FIA F4 - iRacing
The fourth stop of the Team USA Talent Scout powered by MOZA Racing delivered non-stop action at Portland International Raceway with two nail-biting 30-minute races in the FIA F4.
Race 1 Chaos and Control:
Qualifying set the tone with Xander Reed stamping his authority on the field, edging out Michael Janney and Jordan Johnson by just a few tenths. When the lights went out, the leading trio got away clean, but disaster struck in the midfield, a huge turn 1 pile-up shuffled the order and eliminated several contenders.
Up front, Reed, Janney, and Johnson pulled away, but the race was far from straightforward. A backmarker clash brought high drama as Johnson was taken out heartbreakingly, ending his challenge. Behind them, mistakes and spins from the tricky F4 machinery kept the action flowing as battles raged across the field.
When the dust settled, Reed claimed a commanding victory, with Janney in second. The fight for the final podium spot became the battle of the Aarons, with Aaron Brown narrowly defeating Aaron Smith to secure third.
Race 2 Redemption Drive:
If Race 1 was dramatic, Race 2 was pure chaos. The opening lap saw an even bigger multi-car crash than before, shaking up the order once again. Amidst the carnage, the mid-pack fights lit up the broadcast, with cars going wheel-to-wheel in breathtaking fashion.
At the front, Reed and Janney resumed their dominance, while Johnson staged a storming comeback drive, slicing through the field to claim a well-earned third place. With an exciting comeback drive, Paige Kaufman secured the overall win in the women's category. The broadcasters barely had time to catch their breath, with spins and incidents happening almost in sync with each camera switch, the “commentators’ curse” in full effect.
With thrills, spills, and high drama, Event 4 will go down as one of the most electrifying weekends yet in the Team USA
